In this targeted language program, the young person will immerse themselves in learning the Macedonian language, significantly enhancing their communication skills. The program is designed to develop their speaking, reading, writing, and listening abilities, enabling them to progress from no knowledge of Macedonian to a self-sufficient independent speaker level. They will acquire skills to communicate effectively in various contexts, empowering them to engage confidently with family, friends, and other Macedonian speakers in a supportive and stimulating environment. Additionally, for those already familiar with the language, particularly through dialects, this program will help them refine their Macedonian by deepening your understanding of grammar, syntax, and orthography, ultimately boosting their communication abilities in both formal and informal situations.
The young person will commence their journey with a focus on keywords, phrases, questions, and responses in varied contexts to enhance your language skills. In the foundation pathway program, the young person will learn to communicate about their identity, daily routines, work, hobbies,future plans, travel, food, shopping, recipes, household tasks, home, body parts, clothing, colours, numbers, and many other fundamental topics that will help them connect with other speakers of the Macedonian language. They will gain insight into appropriate responses by understanding the cultural context of the Macedonian people and its culture. Learning the Macedonian language serves as a gateway to understanding the Macedonian people, community, and country. By learning Macedonian, the young person will develop a richer and deeper personal identity as they connect to the unique mindset.
As the young person progress through the foundation program, their enthusiasm for mastering the language will become apparent, thanks to the program’s thoughtful design, engaging content, and focus on communication skill development. This will leave them with an insatiable desire to learn more. Our unique program is rooted in neurolinguistics, utilising brain-friendly techniques that promote rapid learning and retention of the Macedonian language. Our courses are designed for young people (13 – 16 years old) and are offered online, addressing the limited opportunities for young people eager to enhance their Macedonian language skills in a suitable learning environment.

Meet the Educator
Seraphim has extensive experience in teaching the Macedonian language and culture to students ranging from Reception to Year 12, as well as adults. He possesses specialised linguistic qualifications in Macedonian from Macquarie University in Australia, where he proudly graduated in early 2007. His speciality is teaching adults and young people. Committed to professional growth, he actively participates in ongoing training and development to enhance the innovation and relevance of his teaching. His enthusiasm for imparting the language shines through in his creative methods, particularly for learners with little to no prior knowledge of Macedonian.
Throughout the years, he has developed learning programs that effectively enhance students’ speaking, reading, and writing skills through engaging and innovative methods. Seraphim leads the school, overseeing governance, staff development, and curriculum quality assurance. He possesses postgraduate qualifications in education, mental health, organisational management, community education, counselling, and vocational education and training. Undoubtedly, learning with him will leave a lasting impression on you and your young person.

The structure of the program
The Macedonian Language Adult Foundation Pathway program is comprised of four independent units designed to enhance your language skills. Each unit spans a duration of 10 weeks or accelerated private study option 5 weeks (if requested). The participant has the flexibility to study them independently, registering for each one as they complete them. The units are as follows:
- Macedonian Language Adult Foundation Unit 1
- Macedonian Language Adult Foundation Unit 2
- Macedonian Language Adult Foundation Unit 3
- Macedonian Language Adult Foundation Unit 4
The sequence of the units is crucial within the Foundation pathway, as each unit builds upon the previous one, enabling you to develop new communication skills and content. The program is structured to allow them to begin at any time or to restart their studies, acknowledging that life can be unpredictable and it’s important to maintain a life and study balance. Depending on their level, we may determine that you start from any unit which would be appropriate for their language capability.
Overview of the program & milestones
The program’s structure typically includes a two-hour weekly workshop, where the young person has the option to engage interactively in a live online group setting or watch at their convenience, or partake in a private lesson. Each unit is designed to enhance their comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing skills in Macedonian through a variety of activities aimed at accelerating your language development.

Cost of the program
Each unit of 10 weeks is heavily discounted. The current price per unit is $285 Australian dollars. If you register two young people at same time, the price of the unit will attract a discount of 10%. Also, the school provides payment plans without applying extra fees, please feel free to discuss your options with the Director.
Your level of Macedonian language by end of Foundation Program
By end of the four units of the Macedonian Language Adult Foundation Pathway Program your level of language capability is measured against the well known Global Scale of the Common European framework of reference for Language Learning. It provides you an insight of your developmental capability to understand your level towards proficiency. There three major levels: Basic User, Independent User and Proficient User.
At the Basic Language User (A2) level, individuals can use everyday expressions and basic phrases for concrete needs, such as introducing themselves and asking simple questions. This proficiency is useful for travelers and basic social interactions. Progressing to the intermediate level, learners can understand main points of clear standard input on familiar topics, handle most travel situations, and produce simple connected text on familiar subjects, while also describing experiences, ambitions, and providing reasons for opinions and plans.
Progression Pathway
Upon finishing the Foundation Pathway Program, the young person can advance to the Intermediate Level. This level includes four additional units designed to help the young person to become an Independent User of the Macedonian Language.
